Specifications
Sonata is suitable for colder climate zones in Western Europe, north of the Alps. The variety has good frost resistance which makes it very popular in Scandinavia. However, it must be covered in winter with a plant fleece. Sonata is particularly suitable for early cultivation (cultivation plastic cover or greenhouse tunnel) and for use as a 60- day crop. The variety is susceptible to Crown rot (Phytophthora cactorum) and Root rot (Rhizoctonia fragariae). Sonata requires sufficient amounts of magnesium and a balanced amount of trace elements (iron, manganese). Furthermore preventive spray applications against Botrytis and Rhizoctonia are recommended.
